'Self-control is really nothing more than mind control... When you master your mind you master your life.' - Robert S. Sharma

It was tough getting up this morning. I was so tempted to stay under the covers and tell the husband to go in without me. But then I thought of Sharma's words and the whole thing about the procrastination becoming a pattern and how a bad habit can be such that you get too old to change your ways and the physical fitness goal.. (becomes) too unrealistic, I decided that something had to be done about lazy snoozer ol' me. So up I got and in I went. Ram gave me a few pointers today about strengthening my knee, so I'm determined to sort it out. Hasa!!

Okay, back to work.

    hi janice,

am new to reading your blog for these past few weeks thru a close friend, and after reading this entry on how mind control can overcome any physical feats, i recalled the experience of a jogging habit here in melbourne. i used to have this acute pain in my knees after doing the regular runs for slightly over 5km each time. it took quite awhile before it went away, so i thought i could either be over-straining my joints by hitting the river banks 4-5 times a week as it was a pretty addictive hobby during winter. just like the cold wind through the wind-breakers and feel the body warm up.

really great to read that u r beginning to feel your legs again!! i can understand!! once it stops its momentum, u really need to slowly pump back to get back ur original stamina + speed. slow + steady really helps alot for now, accompanied with a determined mind. u may take it slow but its gonna come back if u put ur heart to press on tough!! i rem i previously started out with a brisk walk, then a jog, and then a run, and afterwhich, i challenged each run to go past the next bridge past yarra river and so each time i really look forward to doing more as this sense of satisfaction really puts me on cloud nine!!

sometimes i still do feel the same kinda pain in one of my knees. not really sure if it could still be linked to the previous injury in the past that's still lingering around. hope ur knees recovers fast for ur all the upcoming sports events! all the best!

    Hi Sheree,

You should really check out Sharma's book then. It's really inspirational stuff which might help out. You've got such nice scenery though - Must be lovely running past rivers and such!!

Thanks for the best wishes by the way! I hope I don't die trying!!

    haha. no way!

bet all the excitement u have for the Triathlon Race will entice lots of on-going will power to keep u training hard for the next few weeks before the big day! its a pity i wont be back by then to join in the challenge, but i'm looking forward to the next one!

think will give sharma's book a shot after ur recommendation! yep, its truly enjoyable + refreshing during all those morning runs. gonna have canals for sceneries instead of rivers soon after i head back to spore for good. guess i'm gonna miss it.
